Our Commitment

We are a team of passionate scientists and engineers, with a commitment to change the plastic economy.

Amit is the founder and CEO at Polycycl. He holds multiple international patents related to chemical recycling and has over the years coordinated Polycycl’s team’s efforts toward developing various novel technologies that further a circular economy for waste plastics.

A hands-on engineer and tinkerer, Amit also leads Polycycl's passion quotient and organizational strategy. A strong evangelist for the role of chemical recycling in building a new plastic-to-plastic circular economy, he has presented across various sustainability conferences in the USA, Europe, India and South East Asia.

Before his foray to develop environmental technologies, Amit worked with semiconductor startups and Fortune 500 companies in Silicon Valley, including with Sun Microsystems where he was part of the methodology team working on the Niagara super-processor chip.He can be reached at amit.tandon@polycycl.com
Amit Tandon
Founder & CEO

Dr. Ram Iyer brings to Polycycl over 30 years of experience with the design, development, scaleup and commercialization of complex chemical plants and refinery units. He has a Ph.D. in Chemical engineering from UDCT (Mumbai) and has spearheaded several large-scale projects in the petrochemicals, oil and gas sectors. Key areas of expertise include :

-Design, engineering and scale-up of technologies from early research to commercialization.

-Thermodynamic modeling, development of correlation models, design and scale-up of thermal reactors, simulation of distillation systems.

-Commissioning and operation of petrochemical plants, modeling of refinery plants and advanced process control (APC) for delayed coker, crude unit and FCC.
Dr.Ramakrishnan Iyer
VP Engineering
Dr. Ram Iyer brings to Polycycl over 30 years of experience with the design, development, scaleup and commercialization of complex chemical plants and refinery units. He brings to Polycycl deep experience with financial accounting and audit management, corporate finance, risk and compliance, taxation adherence and change management.

Hari also brings expertise in international finance and transactions, having previously worked with multinationals such as Groz- Beckert, Caltex Lubricants and Essar Telecom.
Hari Malhotra
CFO
Hari is a chartered accountant and senior finance professional with over 25 years of experience in accounting, taxation and compliance.

Biresh is a competent industrial engineer with over 30 years of techno-managerial executive experience. An accomplished engineer with the design and development of new components, Biresh oversees the mechanical design, equipment prototyping and quality assurance at Polycycl.

Biresh brings to Polycycl significant experience with developing new engineering products and expanding into new markets. A black belt in quality management and a certified Kaizen Champion, he's adept with quality requirements and management systems including 5S, 7 QC Tools, FMEA, Poka Yoke, DWM and TEI.

He has a Bachelor's in industrial engineering and an MBA from U-21, Singapore.
Biresh Thakur

Ankit is a senior process engineer at Polycycl, overseeing various technology development aspects, including the performance of trials, regression analysis, engineering development and laboratory analysis. 

A conscientious conservationist at heart, Ankit sees his work at Polycycl as an endeavor to use his technical acumen to solve real-world challenges. He has a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from UICET, where he graduated top of his class.
Ankit Goyal
Senior Process Engineer
Ankit is a senior process engineer at Polycycl, overseeing various technology development aspects, including the performance of trials, regression analysis, engineering development and laboratory analysis. 

A conscientious conservationist at heart, Ankit sees his work at Polycycl as an endeavor to use his technical acumen to solve real-world challenges. He has a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from UICET, where he graduated top of his class.
Dr. Edward Beardsworth brings Polycycl a deep, nuanced understanding of the cleantech industry and ecosystem gained over 30+ years as a physicist, technology scout and strategic advisor to corporate and investor clients. 

After earning a Ph.D. in physics, Ed held positions at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and established an independent consultancy, Energy Technology Advisors, to provide numerous utility clients with detailed knowledge of energy R&D at the national laboratories.

Ed was also the Technical Director for The Hub Lab and Associate Director at Jane Capital Partners, where he worked with major energy corporations to develop programs for strategic ventures and acquisitions. He is based in Palo Alto, California.

Dr. Edward Beardsworth brings Polycycl a deep, nuanced understanding of the cleantech industry and ecosystem gained over 30+ years as a physicist, technology scout and strategic advisor to corporate and investor clients.

K D Fatnani
Technical Advisor (Engineering Development)
Mr. Fatnani has a B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Mumbai and brings over 30+ years of experience with design, engineering and project execution of large chemical and petroleum projects.

He has been the divisional director at Mott MacDonald, India, where he was responsible for the business development and execution of numerous large-scale projects in the chemical and refining space.
A serial entrepreneur, Gene has successfully founded, built and sold several businesses, including Advanced Derived Fuels and Hazardous Substance and Waste Management Research Inc., over the past 30 years.

Gene is based in Florida and brings a vast network of associations in the recycling sector from his work with conferences such as the Waste-to-Fuels, the Southeast Recycling Conference, the International Society of Technical & Environmental Professionals Inc. and the National Conference on Waste Exchange and Resource Reuse.

Gene also serves as CEO of Southern Waste Information Exchange (SWIX), a non-profit which has since 1981 been assisting businesses and municipalities with their waste management issues.
Eugene Jones
Strategic Advisor (Feedstock Partnerships)
A serial entrepreneur, Gene has successfully founded, built and sold several businesses, including Advanced Derived Fuels and Hazardous Substance and Waste Management Research Inc., over the past 30 years.

An insider to the field of chemical recycling, Larry has worked closely on the Smuda process to convert polyolefinic waste plastics to liquid distillates and is also an inventor of a process to depolymerize PETE plastics back to their original constituents.

Larry has an A.S. in Physics from Ricks College, a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University and a Diploma in Emerging Leader Development from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
